Durham will host North Carolina's state wide NCAIA conference next week Sept. 24-26.
On Saturday, September 26th the Triangle AIA will hold its annual home tour as part of the conference and we are proud to have a home on the tour.
Salemi-Prim Renovation and Addition

The Salemi-Prim project won an AIA honor award and was selected to be on the Triangle AIA Home Tour Saturday, September 26th. Please come out and see all of the great homes.

Duke Gardens

We are completing the construction documents for our fifth project with the garden staff - an outdoor classroom for the new Prairie Garden at Sarah Duke Gardens. It will be a simple, graceful structure to let the prairie itself take the spotlight.

How cool is this?

Pine trees have been harvested from the site, rough cut to size for the structural members, are drying (see below), being graded and will be used in the new structure! Construction to start this fall.

Here are some belated images of a project we completed a few years ago. Some of you may have seen it on the Green Home Tour.
For this house in the Watts Hillandale neighborhood, we renovated some outdated portions of the home, enlarged the kitchen, and added a study/bedroom, playroom/media room and an outdoor gathering space.

This project, as well as the other residential projects in this newsletter, are particularly rewarding because the home owners were able to adapt their homes to their changing lives and continue to live in the neighborhoods they love.
